No Weights? No Problem! 16 No Equipment EMOM Workouts You Can Do at Home

Image
With so many of us still preferring to keep our workouts within the home right now, it can get a little bit boring. So, it's a great time to add some variety to your exercise mix. Perfectly complementing your Saturday yoga flow, and your Tuesday core workouts, EMOM routines are everything you didn't know you needed in your life. EMOM is a type of HIIT that targets fat, easily burning calories through its system of short bursts of maximum-effort, followed by short rest breaks. Standing for "every minute on the minute," EMOM means you have a minute to complete the assigned number of reps, using the remainder of the minute to rest. However, if you take the whole minute, you have to go to next exercise with no break (ah, there's always a catch . . . ). The good news is, these workouts are super-effective, and can be done at home with zero equipment. Swipe through to see our favorite EMOM at-home, no-equipment-needed workouts, and try one out for yourself.

If Your Friends and Family Refuse to Wear a Face Mask, Try a Therapist's 3-Step Approach

In the midst of a pandemic, the face mask has quickly become a symbol of political turmoil and a flashpoint for heated debate. This simple piece of personal protective equipment has been shown to slow the spread of the virus and may also protect the wearer to some degree, meaning that other peoples' decision to wear a face mask or not can have a direct effect on your health. It's no surprise that tempers are flaring in both public and private settings where face mask use is an issue.

Maybe you're at a store or restaurant where someone is refusing to wear a mask. Maybe you're spending time with a friend or family member who won't put one on. Whatever the situation, speaking your mind about this topic gets dicey, leading to confrontations that can end relationships and feel threatening. How do you navigate these situations so you feel safe, without leading to a blowout argument? POPSUGAR spoke to Chevonna Gaylor, LMFT, a Los Angeles therapist who specializes in relationships and communication, to find out.
