See the Incredible Viral Video of a Man Exercising on Water

The good old-fashioned pushup is more than just a great exercise that builds upper-body strength and boosts endurance. For men, it's a predictor of long-term heart health and longevity. According to a 2019 study of firefighters that was published in the journal JAMA Network Open, those who are able to successfully perform 40 pushups within half-a-minute had a much lower risk of cardiovascular issues and a significantly lower risk of a heart attack.

Given the health power of the pushup, it's a good bet that Ben Groen, a professional barefoot water skier, is going to live a very long and healthy life.

A popular TikTok user with more than 746,000 followers whose high-speed and wildly acrobatic videos have received more than 11,000,000 likes, Groen recently posted an eye-popping video that will have you second-guessing whether or not it's even real. In the footage—in which he asks, "Who wants to learn pushups on water?"—he flips his body around while barefoot waterskiing, uses his feet to latch on to the handle, and then casually swivels around to perform some pushups literally on the surface of the water.

@ben_groenWho out there wants to put this one on their summer to-do list?! 😳 ##fyp ##foryoupage ##pushupchallenge ##pushups♬ Kiss Me More (feat. SZA) – Doja Cat

"This is the closest thing to a super power I have ever seen," wrote one user.

"I can't even believe my eyes," gushed another.

So far, the video has well more than 1.7m views and more than 400K likes.

Groen, who hails from New Zealand originally but is currently based in Florida, is among the top barefoot water skiers in the world. He's an instructor at The Barefoot Water Center in Winter Haven, FL, where he teaches his trade when it's not competing. If you're bold enough to want to try his pushups-on-water exercise, you're in luck. When one of his followers asked, "Does that hurt or is it hard?," Groen chimed in with an answer.

"Doesn't hurt, and it's really not too hard—there's an easy way to learn, I'll post a tutorial soon!"
