Walmart Worker's Emotional Rant on Loudspeaker Goes Viral

It's the kind of announcement that probably would have made you pause if you'd been shopping for groceries or other items at your local Walmart. "Attention Walmart shoppers and associates," one store associate said. Then she proceeded to call out store management and the Walmart company about her experiences after five years of working there.

Beth Mcgrath knew she was sharing her thoughts publicly… she just probably didn't anticipate how public they would go. Last Tuesday, the now-former Walmart associate who lives in Louisiana posted a video she'd taped as she took to the store's public announcement system to deliver a memorable peace-out to her employer.

In the video, Mcgrath appears to prep her emotions before speaking into a store phone. "My name is Beth from electronics," she said, "I've been working at Walmart for almost five years and I can say that everyone here is overworked and underpaid.

"The attendance policy is bulls–t. We're treated from management and customers poorly every day. Whenever we have a problem with it, we're told that we're replaceable. I'm tired of the constant gaslighting. This company treats their elderly associates like s–t."

She went on, with comments for specific store leaders. "To Jarred, our store manager, you're a pervert. Greta and Kathy, shame on you for treating our associates the way you do. I hope y'all don't speak to your families the way you speak to us."

She also praised a handful of colleagues, saying, "Walmart doesn't deserve y'all."

Then, after a few expletives targeted at management, she dropped the mic with: "I quit."

At press time, the video had gained 185,000 views on Mcgrath's Facebook page, garnering supportive comments from friends and strangers as the view count grows.

The New York Post reports Mcgrath responded to the visibility of her video by saying: "I didn't record the video for clout . . . I recorded the video for my fellow coworkers, to let them know that I do love them and I do want what's best for them. I wanted to be their voice, I wanted to be my voice."
