This Beloved Movie Theater Snack Is Coming to Grocery Store Shelves

The final credits that follow new feature films are rolling in front of smaller crowds right now, with movie attendance down more than 80% in the first half of the year versus 2019. Even though movie theaters are inviting audiences back inside, some viewers are opting to watch the most anticipated films of the year at home.

While that sure does sound comfortable, one iconic snack is clearly missing from the equation. Thankfully, a ready-to-pop version of one of the most beloved movie theater popcorn brands of all time is about to hit grocery store shelves and other venues outside of cinemas.

AMC grocery popcorn

Just in time for the season's holiday releases, AMC Theatres Perfectly Popcorn is dropping in supermarkets and convenience stores across the nation, as well as at "select mall retail locations." The company promises that "those new kiosks, counters, and stores will feature real AMC movie theatre popcorn and other AMC movie theatre treats."

This direct-to-home popcorn release is a big one for AMC, considering how much popcorn it pops daily to feed hungry movie goers. "On our busiest days, AMC Theatres currently pops in the range of 50 tons of popcorn per day," AMC CEO Adam Aron says. "But the popularity of popcorn extends well beyond the doors of our movie theaters."

AMC is also launching up to 15 of its own retail stores complete with Coca-Cola machines, candy, and other treats by the end of next year. And like a bonus scene after the credits, there's more—AMC is also making its signature popcorn available for delivery-to-home from nearby cinemas.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' Consumer Price Index report for January 2022 was released on Feb. 9, and it tells the story of cost trends for every spending category over the past year. "Anything that's substantially less [than the 7.4% increase] is a deal," said Lempert. "When you

When Should I Take Creatine?

Creatine is probably the most well-researched supplement on the market today. Numerous studies have found positive adaptations in strength, power and muscle mass thanks to creatine supplementation—especially when it's combined with resistance training. Although the benefits of creatine are well-known to lifters, the best time to take it isn't common knowledge. According to a new study published in the Journal of Exercise and Nutrition, the timing of creatine ingestion does indeed play a role in getting bigger and stronger. Creatine supplementation before resistance training increases muscular strength and lean muscle mass. Interestingly, taking creatine immediately after lifting weights results in greater muscle growth than taking it immediately before. However, in terms of strength gains, no difference betw
