When you're craving baked goods but don't have the time or energy to make them, popping over to Costco's bakery could be the answer to your prayers. Among the sea of cookies, cakes, muffins, and pastries is a mix of new items and returning favorites, none of which go unnoticed by Costco's most devoted shoppers—and the numbers prove it.

According to Costco CEO Craig Jelinek, the company's global bakery sales were up 16% in 2022. "This was actually the biggest growth, in terms of bakery sales, over the last five years," he said during the company's January shareholder meeting.

Since the start of the year, several Costco bakery items have been spotted and shared on social media, prompting numerous users to wax poetic about the treats in the posts' comments section. So without further ado, let's take a trip to Costco's bakery to see the treats that have members buzzing.

Costco's new Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie recently broke the internet. The 4.5-to-4.75-pound dessert was first spotted on March 12 by TikTok and Instagram user Laura Lamb aka @costcohotfinds, who called the bakery item "dangerously delicious." Priced at $19.99, the Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie garnered thousands of comments on social media, with Lamb's TikTok video receiving 3.7 million views.

"Got it today!! It's super rich and super good!!" one TikTok user wrote. "Can confirm, this is INSANE. SO INSANELY GOOD," another one added. Meanwhile, others reported that they couldn't find the item, with The Krazy Coupon Lady sharing that a Costco bakery manager said most stores paused the pie's production because they didn't have enough ingredients to meet the demand.

Whether eaten for dessert or as a breakfast treat, cinnamon rolls almost never disappoint. Costco's Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread is back at the warehouse and priced at $6.99. The bakery item includes 12 cinnamon rolls baked together and covered in cream cheese icing.

Shoppers fawned over the product in a recent Reddit thread, with some suggesting that the rolls are made from brioche. "They are not traditional rolls; these here are yummy blobs of dough coated in the cinnamon, sugar, & butter and topped with a thick frosting (thicker than icing)," one Redditor noted. "I think them not having cinnamon & sugar rolled throughout each one keeps the sweetness in balance." In the same vein, someone else commented, "The frosting is very sweet [but] the roll itself isn't. It's definitely a bread that is sweeter than, say, a dinner roll, but it's not super sweet without the frosting."

These popular pastries are made with flaky dough, filled with almond paste, and topped with slivered almonds and powdered sugar. After one person took to Reddit to celebrate the product, several others followed suit. "These are the best pastries we've ever had, hands down," one person said.

Other Redditors shared tips for getting the most out of the almond danishes. Along with the users who said they freeze the bakery item, one suggested defrosting them in the air fryer until lightly brown, which "brings out the butter flavor more." They added, "Add one scoop of Vanilla ice cream, maybe a dash of cinnamon on top. You're welcome."

New York City-based restaurant chain Junior's has various dessert offerings at Costco, with one being a Missouri staple: gooey butter cake. This dessert, available for $9.99, includes buttery golden cake with sweet, gooey cream cheese, and powdered sugar.

After a Reddit user asked the Costco community for their opinions on the cake, one person advised, "Put it in your cart and don't look back." The Redditor who started the thread ultimately purchased the cake and followed up by writing, "Update… It's delicious. Didn't know butter cake existed. I'm in danger."

Regardless of whether these carrot cakes are actually mini is still up for debate, but one thing is for sure: Costco shoppers certainly love them. "They're delicious! Love the cream cheese frosting ," one Instagram user commented on a post from @costcohotfinds. " IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!," another one said, referring to the seasonal product's return to the bakery. The carrot-topped cake mini cakes are made with walnuts and raisins and are sold in packages of six for $9.99.

Though Costco has managed to create several fan-favorites within its muffin selection, members get especially excited when the Coffee Cake Muffins are available. The beloved bakery treat seems to drift in and out of stock depending on the store or time of year, according to customers who keep tabs on its availability. 

Luckily for any fans who haven't been able to get their hands on the Coffee Cake Muffins for some time, a Costco member took to Reddit a month ago to inform fellow customers that the product had returned. The announcement quickly stirred up excitement in the Costco subreddit. "Praise Costco they heard our prayers," one user wrote. Others were caught between their excitement for the item's return and dread that the muffins could potentially derail their healthy eating habits. "I'll gain five pounds the week they return for us!" another user commented.

Spotted in November and again in January, Costco's Cherry and Cheese Pastries feature flaky dough with an apricot glaze and a Greek yogurt and cream cheese filling. Available in a pack of six for $9.99, these sweet and savory baked goods have sparked plenty of chatter from shoppers.

One Instagram user commented on a post from @costcosisters, writing, "These are so so good! The filling tastes like cheesecake – I normally don't eat anything with Cherry but the lady at Costco recommended these so we grabbed them! No regrets! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS ." A Reddit user echoed a similar sentiment: "I work at a Costco and have often [ogled] them for a while. Bought some and they're amazing! 10/10."

If you prefer an even more savory pastry, have no fear. Costco's Ham and Cheese Pastries, which are sold in packs of four for $8.99, consist of a flaky crust filled with ham, provolone cheese, and a béchamel sauce. Spotted by numerous social media users in January, the bakery item drew much praise, along with suggestions on how to enjoy the popular breakfast pastry.

In response to an Instagram post announcing the product's return, one user wrote, "They're so good, cook them with an egg and then add sour cream, chives, and some salsa ."Another Instagrammer shared, "I just had one and put hot honey over it!!."

This bakery item made its way back into the warehouse in January. "Butter Cinnamon Sugar!!! Basically like a churro bread – this is fantastic and it makes the best French toast!!" Instagram user @costcohotfinds shared in an Instagram post, announcing the product's resurgence.

The post has since accumulated more than 60,000 likes and hundreds of comments from Costco fans who weren't shy about their love for the cinnamon-sugar bread.

"I will eat my body weight in those things. Delish. Do not buy unless you are prepared to eat your whole body weight," one Instagram user wrote. "Could buy 7 loaves of this at once," added another.

However, many were quick to express their sticker shock, with three loaves costing $14.99—four dollars higher than in 2022. " Looks soo good. But $15.. Dang it Costco…" one Instagrammer lamented.

In a January Reddit thread, one user uploaded photos of Costco's Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Mousse Filling and Tuxedo Chocolate Mousse Cake Cake, raising the question, "Which is the best cake for someone who likes chocolate?"

Opinions among Costco fans were relatively split, with Redditors gushing over both chocolatey options. One user wrote, "I usually get the first one for our special occasions. Very tasty and quite a treat," while another one said, "My wife got me the round one for my birthday yesterday, it is amazing!"

Like the round chocolate mousse make, Costco's Tuxedo Chocolate Mousse Cake received much acclaim. Several social media users have expressed their fondness for the dessert, which features chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, white chocolate mousse, brownie chunks, and a chocolate ganache topping.

One Redditor, who called the cake "next level," said,"I LOVE chocolate and I didn't think I could like a cake more than the round mousse cake until I had the tuxedo cake," while someone else commented, "I'm not usually a fan of bakery cakes but that tuxedo cake is unreal."

In the past, the Tuxedo Chocolate Mousse Cake has been decorated for the holidays, with Costco previously releasing Christmas, Easter, and St. Patrick's Day-themed cakes.
