Jenna Jameson Gives ‘Long Awaited’ Update on Her Keto Diet Journey

One step at a time! Jenna Jameson just gave fans a “long awaited” update on how her keto diet journey has progressed.

“I am losing slowly, slowly. I’m now 14 lbs down but I’ve been fluctuating,” the former adult film actress, 45, admitted via Instagram on Monday, February 24, while showing off her figure in a new pic. “I think hormones are playing a huge part. I’m still breastfeeding and recently got my period back after 3 years 🤪.”

I’ve long thought that the human body was not meant to run on empty, that fasting was done mainly for religious reasons or political protest. Otherwise we needed a reliably renewed source of fuel to function optimally, mentally, emotionally and physically.

Study: Using app to track diet, exercise during pregnancy led to better outcomes

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A smartphone app could help improve the health of pregnant women.

A study in Frontiers in Endocrinology found that what they call continuous behavioral lifestyle intervention in pregnancy, assisted by a smartphone app, boosted both nutrition and exercise. Not only did women move more, they said they had more motivation to do more.

The findings of this study are based on data from 565 pregnant women who were overweight and obese. Those who used the app had better eating habits and consumed fewer calories from sugar, fat and salt compared to those who did not.


The app that was used was built as part of this study to assess the result, but it really shows you the power of accountability.

The authors of this study say this is more proof that monitoring intake leads to good outcomes for exercise and diet, and all of us, pregnant or not, might benefit if we are trying to improve our health.

Changes to Nutrition Facts label sweeps grocery stores

Changes are coming to the FDA's Nutrition Facts Labels.
We first reported the updates in December and now, they're here to stay.

Registered dietitian at Mid Dakota Clinic Jenny Schmidt says the changes on the label make it easier for consumers to find information quickly in terms they can understand.

She says some of the most beneficial changes are the bolded font, separation of natural and added sugars, inclusion of vitamin D and potassium and the addition of micrograms and milligrams rather than a percent based on a 2,000 calorie diet.

"It truly is taking into account what we are finding people need more of, and I think it's also looking into the future a little bit too as this is what we're kind of predicting," said Schmidt.

Schmidt says there are some drawbacks to the new labels consumers should look out for. She says the FDA changed serving size to reflect a more realistic portion size based on what a consumer might actually eat versus recommended servi…

Anyone who has ever been on a diet knows that the standard prescription for weight loss is to reduce the amount of calories you consume.

But a new study, published Tuesday in JAMA, may turn that advice on its head. It found that people who cut back on added sugar, refined grains and highly processed foods while concentrating on eating plenty of vegetables and whole foods — without worrying about counting calories or limiting portion sizes — lost significant amounts of weight over the course of a year.

The strategy worked for people whether they followed diets that were mostly low in fat or mostly low in carbohydrates. And their success did not appear to be influenced by their genetics or their insulin-response to carbohydrates, a finding that casts doubt on the increasingly popular idea that different diets should be recommended to people based on their DNA makeup or on their tolerance for carbs or fat.
