When Lexi and Danny Reed visited a Chinese restaurant, it wasn’t unusual for them to make trip after trip to the buffet, heaping food on as many as eight plates. The couple loved going out to eat, noshing on fried and fast food, pizza, chips, candy and soda.

A number of outlets BBC News reported on using diet pills to burn fat, legally bought at health stores and sometimes gyms. Jayne Lawrence, chief scientist RPS, was interviewed about the possible dangers of taking these supplements. Jayne spoke to radio stations BBC Lincolnshire, Bristol, West Midlands, Shropshire, Newcastle and Humberside and BBC Look North.

Speaking to BBC Radio Bristol, Lawrence said,
"Anyone who wants to take these pills and use them as a way to lose weight is actually taking your life into your own hands ... A fat burner is something that increases the metabolism of a person ... the problem is not any compound that has been adequately tested for use as a fat burner, so people taking these compounds are taking a compound that has not been tested. So do not know the dose you must take, do not know the side effects of them ... if they buy over the Internet do not even know the quality of the product you are taking. "
